LA RAZA A LA FINAL VS MILWAUKEE WAVE EL 4 DE ABRIL

Con gol de Víctor Quiroz en Tiempo Extra, LA RAZA de Monterrey derrotó 10 – 8 al Blast de Baltimore para avanzar a la Gran Final de la Liga Mayor de Futbol Rápido de los Estados Unidos donde se medirán al Wave de Milwaukee.
Un encuentro no apto para cardíacos fue el que se vivió la tarde de este lunes en la 1st. Mariner Arena de Baltimore Maryland donde se vio a un equipo de Monterrey ordenado y que supo imponer condiciones sobre su rival.
A pesar de que el Blast pudo colocarse arriba en el partido arrancando el Segundo Cuarto con gol de Machel Milwood, LA RAZA de Monterrey reaccionó y con anotación de Alejandro Morales logró empatar el marcador a dos puntos por bando.
Posteriormente, el cuadro naranja se colocó arriba con gol de Byron Álvarez para llevarse al Medio Tiempo una ventaja de 4 – 2 en el marcador.
Arrancando el Tercer Período, Machel Milwood volvió a hacerse presente en el partido emparejando de nueva cuenta los cartones, ahora a cuatro puntos por bando.
Sin embargo, poco antes de concluir el Tercer Cuarto Carlos Farías marcó para LA RAZA y el conjunto regiomontano se fue arriba 6 – 4.
Llegó la parte final del encuentro y en una ofensiva orquestada por Genoni Martínez LA RAZA llegó hasta la portería de Sagu desde donde Genoni envió un centro para que llegara Alejandro Morales quien se destacó con dos goles en el partido; incrementando la ventaja para el conjunto mexicano 8 – 4 en el marcador.
Parecía que LA RAZA tenía controlada la situación cuando llegó la reacción del Blast que con dos anotaciones consecutivas, una de Max Ferdinand y otra de Giuliano Celenza; lograron empatar la pizarra a ocho puntos por bando para enviar el partido a Tiempo Extra.
Habían transcurrido casi diez minutos del Tiempo Extra cuando un tiro de esquina cobrado por Genoni Martínez fue interceptado por Víctor Quiroz quien cruzó a Sagu con un potente disparo y le dio a LA RAZA el triunfo 10 – 8 y la ventaja definitiva en la serie Semifinal dos juegos contra cero.
Ahora LA RAZA regresa este martes por la noche a Monterrey para prepararse con miras a la Gran Final que sostendrán el próximo domingo 04 de abril en la U.S. Cellular Arena de Milwaukee contra el conjunto del Wave en punto de las 16:00 horas (Tiempo de Monterrey).

La RaZa Beats Blast to advance to the Championship Vs. Wave

03/29/2010 7:35 PM - The Monterrey La RaZa defeated the Baltimore Blast, 10-8 in overtime, in Game Two of the 2010 MISL Semifinals to advance to play the Milwaukee Wave in Sunday's Championship Game. Victor Quiroz scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of overtime after the Blast battled back from an 8-4 deficit to force OT.The teams played Game One Friday night in Monterrey and La RaZa earned a 22-14 victory.
After a scoreless first quarter ended, the Blast had seven shots on goal and La RaZa had four shots. The lone penatly in the quarter was to the Blast for too many men on the field.
The second quarter started with a Machel Millwood goal to give Baltimore a 2-0 lead but La RaZa answered at 6:22 to tie it up with a goal from Alejandro Morales. La RaZa's Byron Alvarez scored at 10:28 to give Monterrey the 4-2 lead.
Just 54 seconds into the third quarter Millwood scored his second of the night to tie the game at 4-4. Monterrey regained a 6-4 lead at 4:33 on a goal from Carlos Farias.
The fourth quarter started off with pusing penalties to Billy Nelson and Alejandro Morales at 5:46 followed by an elbowing penalty to Machel Millwood at 7:48. Monterrey's goal by Alejandro Morales, his second of the night, put La RaZa on top 8-4. Max Ferdinand scored for the Blast at 11:37 to make it 8-6 and Giuliano Celenza tied the game at 8-8 to force overtime.
Quiroz scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of overtime to advance La RaZa to the Championship Game against the Wave.
